Upcoming Movie Release: 150th Anniversary of Little Women!

Correction: the original version of this post indicated a review would be posted on September 24. This was incorrect. The company has prohibited the publication of any review prior to September 27. There will be a review posted on September 27. Please forgive my mistake.

As techy as we are, in our home we really love family classic literature – both in book form and in large and small screens. We’re totally hooked on When Calls the Heart, and await each new season with anticipation (and then binge watch to the end). You might not think so, but all three of our boys love watching these stories and the depiction of life in earlier – but not necessarily simpler – times.

Our three boys have also each read Little Women (as well as Little Men), so I so excited to have been selected to share this with you!

Coming very soon to theatres is a new release of Little Women: next week! Check out the trailer:

  1. I am sad to say that I have not read or seen Little Women and i have the book! I am going to read the book before I see this movie though.

  2. I have read Little Women numerous times over the years. I have also seen a number of the movie and mini series versions of Little Women. Jo, of course, was my favorite character.

  3. Sandra,
There is another series based on a Janette Oke book about the Canadian West. (I Think it was a JO book…)It was on… Disney I think. I only saw a couple episodes. There was a matriarch who seemed to control the town, as well as family… wish I had enough memory to google it!

    • Mell, by any chance is it When Calls the Heart? That series (it’s from the Hallmark Channel) is based on a work of Janette Oke. The main character is the school teacher, but there is a strong supporting character (played by Laurie Loughlin) who is a strong widow who stands up for what’s right. That’s the series that we are hooked on… 🙂

  4. I’m only familiar with the original version of the story and the book remains one of my all-time favorite books. I especially love the movie version from 1994. My favorite character is Jo.

  5. My name is Elizabeth, but until I was 26 years old almost everyone called me Beth. (Family and childhood friends still do.)
