Same Kind of Different as Me – Movie Trailer and Ticket Giveaway!

Early this year, I shared with you my review of Same Kind of Different as Me for Kids – If you haven’t had a chance to check it out yet, it’s a wonderful book for children that shares some difficult circumstances of Denver’s life, and the story of how he grew up and became close friends with people very different than him – and what a difference that is making in people’s lives.

I’m honored to share with you the news that a movie is being released later this month. Same Kind of Different as Me will be in theaters October 20, and boasts an amazing cast, with Greg Kinnear, Renee Zelwegger, Djimon Housou, and Jon Voight – that’s two Academy Award nominees plus two Academy Award winners.

One of the things I love about this story is how it takes something that feels complicated to us – relating to people different, whether by race, religion, economics – and reduces it all to the actual truths of our lives.

Check out the trailer below:

  1. I think what would make a difference everywhere is to put aside all the hate and discontent and just be kind and helpful to your neighbors, friends and even total strangers.

  2. What I think really makes a difference in my community, and throughout the entire world is caring for one another, having mercy for others, showing kindness and love.
