I am no longer in my youth. 😉 It’s true! In fact, I’m well beyond that border and firmly ensconced now into middle age. It was funny when I crossed that line – I had a toddler and certainly didn’t “feel” old. Truthfully, I can’t say that I feel old even now…
But my skin is not quite holding up its end of the deal. In the past few years, I’ve found it a bit more… needy. I’ve made an effort to step up and provide more “support.” And I’ve discovered some wonderful products along the way.
However, one thing that I really did not feel was well addressed were lines. (That really sounds so much better than wrinkles, doesn’t it? Lines. Like, something, oh, literary.
Of course, she has lines. Just think of all the books she’s read.
Recently, I learned about Exuviance Performance Peel. This product is from the same company that develop the original Glycolic Peel. It’s easy to use, with a simple 2-step process.
And in a month-long study completed by NeoStrata Co. Inc., a full 100% of users saw improved in fine lines and wrinkles.
That’s impressive – every participant, seeing results in only one month.
Truth be told, I was a bit leery of trying this product. Yes, I have the prerequisite lines (and wrinkles, yes. Thanks for remembering). But when I received the product, I had just tried another product containing glycolic acid, and had had to stop. I knew this other product (from another manufacturer and brand) was very potent. The problem was – while I was seeing positive results – I was actually beginning to experience pain in my skin. It hurt! To me, that’s a big red flag. My skin didn’t look that much better.
After examining the package and reading the information included with Exuviance Performance Peel, I felt much better. I love that the two-step process includes a neutralizing step. In addition, the directions allow for me to make a judgment on the length f the treatment of step one, based on the comfort (or discomfort) of my skin. This makes sense. We aren’t all alike, so while a product will have a good positive outcome, that doesn’t mean we all need to apply it identically.
Using Exuviance is simple.
First, Read all the directions before doing anything. Seriously, I know we all see this and skip it. But you want to make the most of this product, so spend the extra five minutes. You’ll be glad you did.
Second, Perform a “test peel” on a small, inconspicuous place on your face, following the normal directions. Wait twenty-four hours. If you experience no discomfort or irritation after twenty-four hours, you have the green light to move forward.
Third, get started on improving the appearance of your skin:
- Start with freshly cleansed skin.
- Apply Step 1 (Activator Pad).
- Carefully watch for any signs of redness or discomfort.
- After ten minutes – or sooner if you experience redness or discomfort – Apply Step 2 (Neutralizer Pad)
- Exuviance Performance Peel may be used up to twice weekly. If irritation occurs, cut back on the frequency.
That’s it. It may sound simple, but it works. And, as you probably expect, I am so grateful for the neutralizing step. It’s thoughtful and logical and makes an effective product like this one accessible if you have more sensitive skin like I do.
It’s important to remember – even if you don’t have sensitive skin, you want to avoid contact with the eye area, lips, and any other sensitive spot. While this is a safe and effective formula, the active ingredient will cause discomfort in these areas. Also, it is recommended that you use a sun block while using this product (which is just a great idea in any case).
Developed by leaders in cosmetic dermatology, Exuviance Performance Peel is a safe product, used as directed, which can make a dramatic improvement in the appearance of your skin. You can purchase a six week supply (including the additional testing pads) at www.Exuviance.com.
